Close by is Clumber Park which is part of the National Trust and Sherwood Forest with the Major Oak, the legendary home of Robin Hood.
Both offer cycle hire and nature trails where you can experience the peace and tranquillity of the forest and countryside.
As a base for a short break Worksop is ideally situated for the many places of interest in the area, two being Chatsworth House in the Peak district, home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire and Bakewell where you can find tea-shops offering the famous pudding and tart.
